Today's photo represents a very common look (and battle) between Darrah and myself...the fingers.
She was sucking the middle & ring fingers on her right hand since she was in utero...and it hasn't stopped yet. Almost immediately, I began trying everything I could think of to get/keep these fingers out of her mouth. Swaddling her didn't work (she always managed to wiggle her hand up to her mouth). Pacifiers didn't work. Mittens didn't work. Gloves didn't work. Nothing worked.
These days the battle continues. She's in preschool & both the teacher & I continually tell her she can't have her fingers at school. We tried to convince her she'd get sick & need yucky medicine. We tried to tell her only babies do it (which she agrees to, but then says she just likes to suck them). The newest one is telling her that she can only have them at bed time--her response = closing her eyes & saying she's tired. So, I've had to adjust it to say she can only have them while IN bed. LOL
Gotta love those kids!
